Raj Thackrey’s reaction on Gopinath Munde’s road accident

Senior BJP leader and union minister for rural development Gopinath Munde died this morning reportedly of a heart attack after a road accident in Delhi. He was 64.

At about 6.20 this morning, Mr Munde was on his way to the Delhi airport when an Indica car crashed into the minister’s SX4 car at the the Prithviraj Road and Aurobindo Chowk cross-section in the heart of the capital, the police said.

Mr Munde was on his way to the airport this morning to go to Beed, which was his Lok Sabha constituency, for a victory rally. He was sworn in as a Cabinet minister last week.

Mhadu, a Korku, is smuggled into Mumbai in a state of emaciation by a doctor couple looking for international fame through an experiment. Dr. Apte, a committed doctor, who has studied and written about Korku malnutrition in Melghat, is sceptical about the experiment.
The film uses flashback to throw light on hunger deaths amongst tribals. It traces these back to the imperial system of extortion that held India in a state of starvation, beginning with the railway network.
Apte realises the folly of this development model and tries to expose tribal exploitation by politicians, bureaucrats and contractors, but ends up paying the price.
In the Mumbai experiment, Mhadu begins to respond to modern treatment, but the triumph is short-lived as his hunger gains monstrous proportions. His hunger is unleashed upon Mumbai as originally depicted in Mahasweta Devi’s “Mhadu”, which inspired this film.
The savage assault on the forests of India continues. Tribals continue to starve…
